Resumen

Brazil is one of the largest consumer markets in the world. Among the segments, the beer market stands out for also presenting singularities in the local, regional and national production model. Thus, the purpose of this study is to present a current view of the beer producing and consuming markets in Brazil. To this end, bibliographical research was carried out using the SPELL database. Nuances in the Brazilian market were identified that should be highlighted, namely: preferences for types of production – e.g., artisanal – or imported. Additionally, the consumer market presents continuous growth that reveals business opportunities involving this sector.
